Herbal vinegar hair conditioner combines the nourishing properties of apple cider vinegar with the active ingredients of various herbs.
Because a sour rinse with apple cider vinegar smoothes the hair structure and depending on the herb used, hair and scalp are protected from dehydration, dandruff and hair loss.
And the added bonus? No more hair conditioner chemicals going down the drain and into the sea and no more plastic hair conditioner bottles going into landfill. Your hair will thank you, and so will nature!

Recipe for herbal vinegar hair conditioner
Try this homemade herbal vinegar as a simple but effective hair conditioner! Herbal vinegar is not only a pleasure in the kitchen, but can also do skin and hair good – with the miracle remedy apple cider vinegar. Depending on the herb used, it has a targeted effect against dry scalp, dandruff or hair loss. For a hair conditioner with herbal vinegar you need:
- 1 handful of herbs of your choice, dried or fresh – you can find the different ways of working below in the article.
- approx. 250 ml apple cider vinegar, which you can also make yourself
- Screw-top jar with 200-300 ml capacity
This is how the herbal vinegar is applied: Fill herbs in a screwed glass. Pour in apple cider vinegar so that all parts of the plant are covered. Close the glass and let the base draw at room temperature for two to three weeks. Shake regularly so that the active ingredients dissolve even better. Remove the finished herb vinegar from a coffee filter bag or coarse fabric and store it in screwed glasses or bottles.
Tip: There are many varieties of home-made herbal vinegar that are also well received in the kitchen – with wine vinegar, for example, or with garlic or lemons. There are no limits to creativity.
Application of herbal vinegar rinse
Vinegar as a sour rinse and plant extracts with health-promoting herbs are already popular as natural, homemade hair conditioners. You can combine the power of both but also in a herbal vinegar rinse.
Apply the hair conditioner as follows: Cleanse hair, for example with hair soap, shampoo bars)or an intensive hair cure with soda. Mix two tablespoons of the herbal vinegar with a litre of cold water and rinse the hair with it.
It is not necessary to rinse out the herbal vinegar mixture, as the slight smell of vinegar evaporates immediately. On the contrary, the effect of apple cider vinegar and herbs is enhanced when you create a particularly long exposure time for the herbal vinegar as a leave-in-rinse.
