How to fix an iPhone that is disabled: reasons it happens

Your iPhone is disabled because you entered the code incorrectly too many times. Typically, if you enter the code incorrectly 5 times in a row, the iPhone will be deactivated for 1 minute. With 7 incorrect entries for 5 minutes, with 8 incorrect entries for 15 minutes and with 9 incorrect entries for 60 minutes. And if you enter the code incorrectly 10 times in a row, the iPhone will be deactivated and you will be asked to connect to iTunes.

Tips : If you have activated the option delete data under “Face / Touch ID & Code” , all data on the iPhone will be deleted if you enter the code incorrectly 10 times.

There are many situations in which the iPhone will be deactivated because the wrong code has been entered too many times. For example:

  • You forget your password and enter different, incorrect codes up to 6 times
  • You give the iPhone to your child and she / he presses different buttons on the lockscreen many times.
  • Someone is trying to guess your iPhone passcode and try to unlock your iPhone.

Solution 1: iPhone is disabled. Try again in XX minutes

If the message appears that the iPhone is disabled and you should try again in 5, 15, 60 minutes, then you can simply wait 5/15/60 minutes and then unlock your iPhone with the correct code or with Touch ID. So the disabled iPhone is easily restored without data loss. However, if you forget the passcode, then you can bypass the lock on iPhone using the following methods.

The usual way to recover data after a reset is to restore it from a backup. For this, iPhone data recovery is worth a try. This program can selectively restore deleted files from iTunes / iCloud backup. You can also perform a data scan for the iPhone’s internal memory. In this way you can find the data back despite no backup.

The iPhone is activated!

The iPhone is now unlocked. If you don’t want your iPhone to be deactivated if you forget your passcode, then you should either activate Touch ID on your iPhone 8/8 Plus / 7/7 Plus / SE / 6s / 6 / 5s or create a backup of your iPhone crate with iTunes or iCloud .
