Since an egg shell is very sensitive, it can happen often that an egg breaks. Read here how to still use broken eggs.
3 tips to use broken eggs
Tip 1 – Remove broken eggs from the packaging:
Eggs are usually bought in egg cartons. Here some eggs can stick. That is, when they have a crack and protein has leaked, or if the protein comes from another egg. Many then throw the cardboard and the egg, which you can’t get out anyway, in the garbage. But that doesn’t have to be the case. You can still use such eggs. Just moisten the box a little. You can then gently remove the cracked egg.
Tip 2 – Boil broken eggs:
Eggs that already have a crack, you can usually no longer cook, because here the protein would leak during cooking and clot. But here’s a little trick on how you can still cook cracked eggs: Wrap the broken egg in aluminum foil. Then put it in the water bath as usual and you have a hard-boiled or soft-boiled egg.
Tip 3 – Use broken eggshells for crafting:
At Easter it is always fun to tinker with the little ones. In many families it is even a tradition that eggs are blown out, painted and then hung up. If an egg breaks completely when blowing out, then you should not throw away the egg. Egg yolks and egg whites can still be used for cooking. You can use the shell to make other eggs pretty. You can make beautiful mosaic eggs with the broken eggshell. Simply take the eggshell pieces and stick them on the healed and already coloured egg like a mosaic. Always leave some space between the parts so that you can see the color of the healing egg. Then paint the mosaic parts. You can also leave the parts white.
