Make-up brushes are used daily in our makeup process – whether for powder, eye shadow or foundation. However, that these also require regular cleaning, we usually do not consider. Why this is important and how you clean cosmetic brushes properly, we’ll explain below!
As much as we like to put on make-up, we are reluctant to deal with the chaos and the dirty brushes that are created during the daily make-up process. But in dirty brushes make-up remains, dust, oils and bacteria accumulate. These can lead to unsightly redness, pimples and acne on the facial skin and inflammation in the eye area.
Clean brushes are therefore essential to prevent blemishes. Not only does the use of purified brushes result in a cleaner skin, it can also significantly improve the result of applying make-up or rouge. With the help of the cleaned brush, the make-up can be evenly applied again and the desired make-up effects are achieved. But how do you best clean them?

Clean cosmetic brushes properly
Basically, you should wash the brushes, which you use for rouge, powder and the like, once a week. Foundation brush cleaning should even more common because of its liquid formula – preferably after each use.
You can clean the brushes either with a special cleaning soap for cosmetic brush or with core soap. If you own real hair brush, you can also clean it with lukewarm water and a mild shampoo. You should not use any dishwashing liquid or similar aggressive cleaning agent as it will deprive the fine hairs of fat and make them brittle and brittle.
When cleaning it is important to note that the styles do not get wet. Most high-quality brushes have wooden styles. The water causes them to swell and unsightly cracks can arise. In addition, the adhesive may dissolve and the brush hairs may fail.
It is best to use a tall container and fill it only a few inches with water and the detergent, so that only brush hairs are covered with it. After the cleaning bath, wash out the leftovers! When drying, make sure that the brushes are flat or the bristles are pointing upwards. They should also be dabbed briefly with a cloth.
If you are short of time, you can use a cleaning spray. It also has a disinfecting effect and removes impurities. Simply spray on the bristles and clean the dirt out of the bristles using a cloth.
So that you do not accumulate too much dirt and bacteria on the brushes, you should not store them in a cosmetic bag or leave them lying around in the bathroom. Because there hide many germs that have no business in our face. It’s best to keep your brushes in a closed cupboard that is well protected from moisture.
I hope that my tips for cleaning the brushes can help you and motivate you for a regular cleaning.
