It should keep us warm but still look chic: our winter hat. With today’s selection, you don’t even know which one stands for it at all. The decisive factor is often the shape of the face. That’s why our guide will show you the most important hat shapes of the winter and tell you which winter hat style suits you best.
Which winter hat style suits you best?
Poodle Hat & Beanie: Cool through everyday life

Mostly they are knitted and actually all have a bobble on it. We are talking about the poodle hat. It used to be popular with fishermen and sailors – for the reason that it remained upside down even in the harsh winds at sea.
Nowadays you see them less as It-Piece, but their variation: the Beanie hat. This is basically a poodle hat without a bobble. It looks extra casual and is therefore especially popular with skateboarders. But for a few years now, Beanies have been an integral part of many winter wardrobes – including fashion bloggers.
A beanie, especially when loosely placed, stretches your face. Therefore, it is the perfect winter hat style for round faces. A beanie can be combined with a coat in the same color. The beanie gives this outfit a touch of coolness. Thus, it is not only a great winter hat style for skateboarders or teenagers, but is excellent for all ages.
Beret: Parisian Chic

They are really popular again: berets or also called Béret. This cap is beautifully feminine and gives every outfit a certain French flair. Accordingly, the beret not only enhances everyday outfits – this hat is also a perfect winter hat style for the office or an appointment with friends. The beret stands particularly well angular faces, but also oval face shapes can wear this winter hat.
Classic: the red beret, matching a handbag in the same tone. Such an outfit is a true all-rounder and fits for the evening at the Christmas market, the winter walk or even the way to the office.
Maritime cap
Absolutely trendy: the ship’s hat. Like the poodle hat, it also originates from seafaring and nowadays combines the working world with high fashion. The models at Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel fashion show last year walked the catwalk wearing a stylish maritime hat. The great thing about the maritime cap: any face shape can wear it! The boater’s hat gives your outfit a maritime casualness and therefore makes itself especially good winter hat style with simple everyday outfits.
Announced looks don’t always have to be elaborate to style – even with an It-Piece like the maritime. Combined with a coat in the same tone, along with a light grey sweater and a grey bag… Little effort, but looks great.
Headband: Romantic through autumn
The headband is particularly hair-friendly. It keeps your ears warm without squeezing your hair and unlike the winter hat you can also wear a braid or a dutt with a headband. It usually has a romantic charm as a winter hat style – especially in turban style, i.e. with a knot or twist at the front, which rattles the band a bit.
You can make the width dependent on your face: narrow, long faces are allowed to reach for wide headbands, small and rounder faces are best taken a little thinner.
A wide headband is can be styled to a mottled, casual jacket and black trousers in leather look. It’s best to choose a headband in a neutral color that fits your winter jacket. The headband with the cuff looks rather playful and therefore offers a nice contrast to the rest of the outfit, which offers a mix of casual and rocky with the trousers and the eye-catching zippers.
You see – no one has to freeze this winter. There is the right winter hat style for every type.
