Always wear jeans in winter? No thanks! We love our skirts too much for that. And they can also be worn on cold winter days without freezing. It’s all about the right styling. Our guide shows you how to style skirts in winter.
Winter is here! For most of them, this means putting on thick pants and getting out of the beautiful skirts and dresses that we wore up and down in the summer. They are walking in the far corner of our closet for the next few months. But that doesn’t have to be the case. Because skirts can also be worn on cold winter days without dying from cold. I am living proof!
The art is simply to make up for the missing fabric of the skirt with other warming pieces. Keyword: tights , overknees, thick socks, wool coats and knitted scarves. Even if bloggers run around with bare legs and open shoes despite freezing temperatures – we don’t! There are simply too many stylish tights for this, which we can combine with our skirt. We show you how you can easily style skirts in winter.

Ways to style skirts in winter
Midi skirt with sock boots

We couldn’t get enough of midi skirts this summer – so why not wear the trend pieces in winter? With sock boots, it becomes stylish and warm at the same time as a midi skirt ad is a great way to style skirts in winter. Because the boots end under the hem of the skirt, your legs and especially your ankles stay nice and warm. If that’s too cold for you, just put on warm wool or thermal tights under the midi skirt. This keeps you nice and warm and is not noticeable.
It gets really chic, for example, with pointed sock boots with a narrow stiletto heel, a tight-fitting turtleneck sweater and a masculine cut wool coat. If you like it more casual, choose boots without heels and with a round sole.
Styling tip: Wear your midi skirt on your waist and put your sweater loosely in the skirt at the front – this ensures a particularly harmonious silhouette and endless legs.
Maxi skirt with ankle boots

Maxi skirts are super suitable to ensure mega cool styling even on cold winter days. Simply combine a few classic ankle booties and a cozy sweater and you’re done. You can wear it on the waist similar to the midi skirt or just casually over the skirt.
The layering look also looks particularly great in winter. Simply wear a longer oversized blouse under the sweater that flashes out from under the hem. Not only does it look super stylish, it also provides additional warmth.
Are your bare ankles flashing out between the hem of the skirt and boots? There is also a solution here. Namely socks! Yes, they are allowed or have even been wanted for some time. Combine it with the maxi skirt just a few cool statement socks. For example, a model with glitter or dots will spice up your rock look.
Mini skirt with overknees
Can’t you do it without your favorite mini skirt? You don’t even have to. Instead of open sandals, we simply style the short piece in winter AND warm overknee boots (see our main image). So that the look doesn’t look cheap, you should go for a flat over the knee or a model with a mini block heel, and suede models are more suitable for everyday life than smooth leather.
With a cozy oversized sweater, Baker Boy hat and thick wool coat, the winter look is perfect.
Here, too, you can of course provide extra warmth on the legs with additional tights . Particularly great: tights with a trendy dot pattern.
Mini skirt with wool tights
Overknees are not your thing? No problem. Of course, you can put on your mini skirt in winter without the boots with the long shaft, without freezing. Since there is a lot of leg free without the shoes, you should definitely rely on as many thick and warm combination partners as possible. An absolute must: warm and opaque wool or thermal tights to help style skirts in winter.
