How rubber is still vital in today’s business world

2. Repair rubber boots – step by step instructions

Step 1:
To repair the rubber boots, you first have to buy a thick tape. Best suited for repairing gaffer tape or duct tape. You can buy such adhesive tapes in any hardware store.

Step 2:
Clean the crack thoroughly with a damp cloth. The crack or hole must be completely clean so that the adhesive strip then holds well. After cleaning with the damp cloth, wipe dry well.

Step 3:
Now you should glue the tape generously over the hole or over the crack. You should stick the adhesive strip into the shoe from the inside,so it is not so quickly noticeable that the shoe is broken. The almost new shoe is ready.

2.1. No permanent solution

This is by no means a permanent solution, but in case of an emergency it can be a good and quick solution. For old or plain rubber boots, you can also use a colorful tape. So you can cheerfully spice up the old or rather boring looking rubber boots.

3. Vulcanizing is a better solution

It is much better to vulcanize the defective site. A vulcanizing solution can usually be found in the repair kits for bicycle tyres or car tyres.
Hold a piece of rubber on the defective spot, add the vulcanizing solution and heat everything together. The piece of rubber will then connect permanently with the rubber boot and the hole will be tight.
