Baked with love you can not only use them as a special treat for reward, smaller dog biscuits are great for daily training.

Making dog biscuits yourself involves less effort than you might think. In addition, self-baked dog biscuits have the advantage that you know exactly what’s in them. Because biscuits, which are actually made for human consumption, must not eat our dogs. They contain a lot of sugar.

Adapted to the individual preferences of your four-legged friend, you can also develop your own recipes when you make your own homemade dog biscuits and thus bake all sorts of dog biscuits yourself.

Recipes to make your own homemade dog biscuits

The allrounder dog biscuit

ingredients

300 grams of whole wheat flour 
80 grams of lard 
100 ml of water

For this simple and quick recipe, mix all the ingredients together until you get the smoothest possible dough. Then the dough is rolled out about 0.5 mm thick and gouged out. Depending on your preference, you can take small cookie cutters in bone form or cut the dough as you like.

The resulting raw biscuits are finally baked on a baking sheet lined with baking paper in the oven at 160 degrees circulating air or 180 degrees top heat for 30 minutes. At the end, let it cool down and your dog can enjoy the freshly baked dog biscuits!

This dog biscuit recipe is wonderful as a basic recipe for your own creations. You can customize the ingredients according to your dog’s taste. In question comes everything that your dog also tastes otherwise. For example, you can substitute lard with goose fat or beef tallow. Additional ingredients such as grated carrots, tuna or pureed beef liver can be wonderfully combined.

Whole grain dog biscuits

ingredients

100 g 
wholemeal wheat flour 150 g whole grain oatmeal 
1 tbsp honey 
1 tsp granulated beef broth 
1 egg 
120 ml milk

preparation

While preheating your oven to 200 degrees Celsius (180 degrees Celsius), mix the flour with the oatmeal and gradually add the honey, broth, egg and milk. At the end, a relatively firm dough should be produced, which you can only knead by hand. Then you roll out the dough on your work surface and then stick dog biscuits at will. Alternatively, you can also make small talers with your hand. Afterwards, the dog biscuits are put in the oven for about 10 -15 minutes.

Liverwurst treats

ingredients

500 grams of wholemeal rye flour or spelled flour 
2 eggs 
200 grams of liver sausage

Every dog ​​loves liverwurst – and these liverwurst – delicacies are especially fast to produce! 
Add the flour, the two eggs and the liver sausage to a dough. You do not have to roll it out, it’s easiest to work with if you make it into small balls. These are then baked in the backyard at 180 degrees top heat for 20 minutes – this dog biscuit recipe is well received by every dog.

Tuna balls

ingredients

600 grams of chickpea flour 
3 cans of tuna (in your own juice – but please drain) 
2 eggs

The delicious tuna balls are baked quickly – just add the chickpea flour, the drained tuna and the two eggs to a mushy dough. If the dough is of the right consistency, you simply need to make it into small balls and bake at 175 degrees over heat in the oven for 20 minutes. Then they are still soft inside and therefore a particularly tasty treat for your dog.

Liver dog biscuits

ingredients

400 grams of liver (pureed) 
500 grams of wholegrain flour 
2 eggs 
200 ml of lukewarm water 
10 tablespoons of oil

A combination based on the recipe of liverwurst biscuits. Somewhat more intensive in the taste and thus another delicacy in the dog biscuit kitchen. 
First you have to purée the liver fine, because it lumps only badly processed. Add the liver porridge to the remaining ingredients and knead well enough to get a fine dough. The trick of this dough is that you just have to pass it on a baking sheet laid out with baking paper, the cutting and shaping is omitted in this dog biscuit recipe.

The baking tray is then placed in the oven for 20 minutes at 180 degrees top heat and allowed to bake in peace.  After baking, let the finished dough rest for about 5 minutes, after which you can cut it into shape with a knife.

Tip: Do not wait too long after cutting – after about 15 minutes, the dough has already hardened so far that it can no longer be cut.

100 grams of wholegrain flour 
100 grams of oatmeal – crunchy 
1 egg 
2 teaspoons linseed oil 
1 finely grated apple 
1/2 banana

Due to their hardness, these dog biscuits are especially beneficial for the teeth of your dog. For the production make your own homemade dog biscuits you mix all ingredients together. If the dough is too firm to handle, add 1-2 tablespoons of water.

Most importantly, you remove the fish from all its bones before processing – after which it is steamed or boiled. Vegetables and rice are cooked well, so everything is nice and soft. Now you purée the fish, the vegetables and the rice into mush and mix everything with an egg yolk. The cookies are then brought into shape at 200 degrees top heat baked in the oven for 20 minutes.


Millet flake biscuits

ingredients

500g minced beef 
200 grams pack millet flakes 
30 grams walnuts (grated) 
4 eggs 
1-2 tablespoons oil

preparation

First the walnuts are finely ground in a mortar. Then you can mix them with the hack, the millet flakes, the eggs and the oil (like coconut oil). The resulting dough is very moist, so it is best if you make small pellets from the pulp and then press them flat. Unlike other recipes, the raw dog biscuits used in this recipe are placed on a grid that is placed in the oven on a middle rail. Under the grate you should push a baking sheet with some water.

During baking make your own homemade dog biscuits, the dog biscuits lose a lot of fat and water (superficially from the minced meat), which can be caught in the lower baking sheet and later simply disposed of. 
The dog biscuits are baked at 250 degrees top heat for 10 minutes, then you have to turn the temperature back to 150 degrees and let the dough pieces bake for another 30 minutes.
