How to make homemade eye make-up remover

Eye makeup

You often do not know what ingredients your beauty products contain? Time to change that. We’ll show you how to make homemade eye make-up remover.

So you know exactly what ingredients your products consist of. Because knowing the components of your cosmetics is very important, above all for allergy sufferers and for people with sensitive skin. In addition, you can be so sure that the cosmetic product has not been tested on animals, which is not only of great importance for vegans.

Making homemade eye make-up remover is not as difficult as you might expect. If you use waterproof make-up, you will need to use a certain amount of oil. Otherwise, residues of kohl, eyeliner or mascara will most likely remain on your eye.

Jojoba oil is best – a very well-tolerated oil, which is very similar to natural skin oils. Enriched with apricot kernel oil, which is rich in vitamins A, B and E, you’ll instantly have an eye make-up remover that will not irritate your eyes and yet gently and thoroughly remove stubborn make-up.

Homemade eye make-up remover:

Ingredients and material (for 50 ml):

  • 25 ml jojoba oil
  • 25 ml apricot kernel oil
  • a small glass bottle
  • a funnel

Homemade eye make-up remover: Preparation

Fill the jojoba and apricot kernel oil with a funnel into a small sterilized bottle. Sterilize the bottle by boiling it with water for about 10 minutes.

So remove make up from your eyes properly

Apply a little of this to a cotton pad, close your eyes and wipe the eye shadow from the outer corner of the eye to the inner eye, first of all from the eyelids. Remove mascara by wiping with a cotton pad with the eyelids closed first from below, then from the top of each eyelash to the tips. Do not scribble back and forth. First, it tears and distends the sensitive skin in the eye area, and secondly, the eyelashes can break more easily. To remove the remnants of the mascara that settle on the lower eyelid, dip a cotton swab into the eye make-up remover and gently wipe the remaining paint from the outside inwards. Don’t forget to clean your cosmetic brushes regularly as well.
