You sign in to Snapchat. You will see this wonderful fire symbol next to your best friend’s name. The number is growing every day. You’re enjoying your best streak of all time (officially known as the Snapstreak). You have become a Snapchat master!
Then the worst that could happen happens. You unexpectedly lost your Snapchat streak. Your life is ruined. But don’t panic! We’ll show you how you can potentially get your streaks back.
Snapchat streak rules
Let’s start with the basics. Some of you may not know exactly what a streak entails or what the benefits are. You need to understand these if you want to know how to get a Snapstreak back.
This is by no means a solo tour – this is a demonstration of your friendship. You have to rely on someone. You can either openly tell your friend that you want to try a SnapStreak or it can be an unspoken agreement.
A streak begins when you and a friend send each other Snaps every 24 hours for three consecutive days. Once you do, a fire sign will appear next to the contact’s name, along with a listing of how many days the streak lasted.
The rules are simple: you have to send that person a Snap every day. You must respond to your Snap within 24 hours. Chats don’t count. Snaps are not sent from Memories or Snapchat Spectacles. Neither do video calls. However, videos sent using the Snap feature will work.
And remember, Streaks are with individuals. So if you send a Snap to a group or add it to My Story, it doesn’t become a series.

Trophies
First, note that emojis are different from the trophies. The more streaks you play, the more likely you are to earn Snapchat trophies.
Go to the chat function and you will see your contacts. Emojis accompany some, if not all, of these names (depending on how many friends you’ve added and how often you communicate with them).
If you regularly send messages to someone, you will see a smiley face to the right of their name. This means that you are the best of friends. This is sure to show up when you are on a Snap Streak with someone.
When your streak reaches 100 days, Snapchat will congratulate you by adding the emoji “100” next to the flame symbol. In addition, the number of consecutive days that you participated in this streak is simply listed further.
Nobody is perfect, so inevitably one party forgets that they didn’t send a Snap within 24 hours of the previous one. Snapchat has you covered – it will remind you of that by displaying an hourglass emoji based on your streak number. If you see an hourglass, send a Snap! If you’re worried the other person may have forgotten about this too, send them a message in chat hoping that they have turned on notifications.

Why did you lose your Snapchat streak?
The most obvious reason is that either you or your friend haven’t sent a Snap in the last 24 hours. But don’t immediately blame the other person; sometimes it’s nobody’s fault.
Connectivity problems often plague the app. If either of you is having trouble connecting to the internet, Snaps may not be able to send. In such cases, Snapchat should tell you that a Snap has not been delivered. You can try again, but make sure you have WiFi. Otherwise, you’ll have to send the email later (so it’s a good idea to start a series if you know you will be home at certain times each day).
There may also be a problem with the hardware or the operating systems. Unfortunately, if this continues for a few days, your streak isn’t the only victim. Your “best friend” status will also disappear.
However, many report that both parties sent snapshots but the series went missing anyway. Nobody really knows why – but most blame a bug in the app. Especially if you’ve just installed an update.
Sometimes the connectivity issue is also one of the most common reasons why Snaps cannot be sent. However, you will receive a message when such issues arise. You can try again later. However, this time make sure you have a proper Wi-Fi connection.
A hardware problem is also one of the culprits. This problem lasts for several days, and then it’s obvious that you and your friend’s streak will go away. Most of them have reported bugs in the app itself, but it can be fixed if you update it.
Watch out for other glitches in Snapchat including open Snaps that won’t go away from the chat timeline. Fortunately, in most cases, you can get your streak back.
How to get streaks back on Snapchat
Snapchat recognizes and values its dedicated user base and that some things are beyond our control. Because of this, there is a way to get your Snapstreak back.
To do this, you need to contact Snapchat.
Before we get into the details, you should know that there are caveats. In particular, you can’t do it regularly. Don’t get into the habit of losing your streak over and over and talking to Snapchat every time. Second, if numerous streaks have disappeared, this method will likely only work with one contact. Certainly there is a limit of one username per entry. Make your longest running streak a priority.
Go to Snapchat support. You will see a list of possible problems. Click My Snapstreaks Are Gone. A contact form is loaded under Details on Strips. This requires basic information about your account (username, email address, cell phone number, and device) and details of the streak.
Provide as much detail as possible, including how many consecutive days your streak went on, if you can remember. If not, ask your friend. If that doesn’t work, take a guess. There is room in the form later to say that it is an approximation.
If you know an exact date when you lost your streak, that is also useful. However, you can also tell them that the problem has appeared since you installed the latest update.
The penultimate question is about the hourglass emoji. This is to determine if any of you just forgot. In this case, Snapchat is unlikely to do anything to help. However, you can find your case in the last section “What information should we know?” Clarify.
Be honest. Let Snapchat know if the app didn’t load, a Snap just didn’t send, or your internet connection failed.Submit your request and wait for an answer.
Why isn’t Snapchat helping me get my streaks back?
The social network won’t restore your streak if it naturally subsides. It doesn’t matter if you get closer to 1000 days: if someone forgets, you’re on your own. Of course, you could lie and say that something went wrong with the app. But we are not advocating this.
Or maybe the service doesn’t think you make enough money. It’s far from perfect. As popular as it is, even its core audience knows that there’s a lot wrong with Snapchat.
