With the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, staying at home all day can get quite monotonous, and you may need something to keep you entertained when bored. One of the most fulfilling and fun things you could do to pass the time is to play computer games.
Online solitaire games are an excellent way to stimulate your brain since you can easily find free games that won’t cost you a dime! All you need is a computer or mobile device, the internet (in some cases), and you are good to go. Most games outline their rules in advance to allow you to choose your preferred level of difficulty.
The Legendary Solitaire Game
One of the most popular computer games ever created is Solitaire; a card game played solo online and offline. Some of the most common Solitaire varieties include Klondike, Mahjong, FreeCell, and Sudoku.
Solitaire has numerous benefits, including calming the mind by letting you unwind and helping people improve their overall strategy skills. After playing Solitaire, you’ll feel energized and mentally refreshed to get back to your daily activities. As the saying goes, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”
Best online solitaire games
Out of all Solitaire games, Klondike is the supreme classic. In this game, you will need to arrange a deck of cards according to suit and value. Each sorted pile should be of the same suit, i.e., either diamonds, hearts, spades, or clubs. Moreover, the cards should also be arranged in numerical value from ace to King (A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, Jack, Queen, King).
Sounds easy, right? Well, don’t be fooled. Klondike has some twists to it, making it even more enjoyable. The next section provides an in-depth discussion of how exactly to play the game and some tricks that you can use to win the game and become a pro in no time.
How to Play Classic Klondike Solitaire Online
The cards are arranged in three sections. One section has a pile of cards facing down; this is your draw pile. The second section has four empty columns, while the third section has seven columns with cards. For the latter set, the first card should be face-up. The cards should be arranged according to suit and value on the four empty columns. The player uses the cards from the non-empty sections to come up with the required sequence.
To uncover the cards in the seven columns, the player arranges the revealed cards in descending value and alternating suits. For instance, if the revealed card is 5 of spades, the following card should be a 4 of hearts or diamonds, since 5 of spades is black.
You reveal cards from the draw pile by clicking on the top-most one. Depending on the level of difficulty, clicking the top-most card will either show one or three cards. If you reveal three cards, the game becomes more complicated since you can only use the top one. You win the game when you uncover all the cards and arrange them in the empty section according to suit and value starting from Ace to King.
When playing Klondike online, move your cards by dragging them to where you want them. You can also move them by selecting your cards and clicking on where you would like them to go. If you are moving the card to an empty section, you can either follow the steps above or double-click it.
A simple trick to win as a beginner is using the undo button. This allows you to reverse a move made or go through all the cards in the uncovered pile before you make a move.
Klondike is a simple, free, and super fun game that provides an excellent way to relax and kill some time. Next time you’re feeling bored, play Solitaire online classic, and enjoy the challenge. You will be surprised at how much fun you’ll have!
