10 tips to improve fingernails
»Rub excessively soft fingernails with lemon juice daily.
»Brittle nails become more stable if you grease them daily and soak them in warm olive oil for a few minutes , to which a splash of lemon juice has been added beforehand.
»Yellowed nails become rosier again with frequent brushing with lemon juice.
»Claw your fingernails in a soft soap before doing dirty work. They are then much easier to clean afterwards.
»Regular cutting of the nails is important. Fingernails grow faster than toenails and therefore need to be cut more often.
»Don’t cut your nails too short. Cut the toenail straight.
»Do not cut off cuticles. At the most, gently push back with a wooden stick after a warm soap bath.
»Do not use nail polish remover too often and avoid products containing acetone if possible.
Papaya care for soft nails
Whether by doing house or garden work, the fingernails are heavily strained. The pulp of the papaya contains a protein-splitting enzyme papain, which softens even heavily keratinized areas.
Cut a ripe papaya lengthways and scrape out the seeds. Then spoon out the pulp. Use the hand blender to make this into porridge and add a dash of wheat germ oil. Wheat germ oil contains many polyunsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E and beta-carotene and promotes the rejection of skin cells. Soak your hands in this mix for a few minutes, then rinse and gently push the cuticles back with a wooden stick soaked in oil.
Lemon Almond Care Oil
Put fifty milliliters of almond oil in a small bowl. Drizzle a few drops of fresh lemon juice into the oil and stir well. Massage the oil into the skin until it is completely absorbed. Even rough and brittle hands become velvety soft again.
